Delicious Delights

Delicious Delights

Ms. Tully worked with the boys and girls in fourth class to produce these tasty looking cakes.  The perspective they created suggests they have worked very hard on their 3-D shapes this year.  Well done.

Pastels and charcoal

Mr. Herity - Rang 5

Beautiful pastel and charcoal drawings created by the boys and girls in fifth class.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

Ms. Farrell - Rang 5

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo won the Boston Globe Horn book award in Fiction in 2006.  It follows the life of a china rabbit who discovers that life is all about learning to get to know and love the people around you.  It inspired the boys and girls in fifth class to create these fantastic art works.

Winter Wonderland

Ms. Fagan - Rang 3

After reading a poem about winter, the boys and girls in Ms. Fagan's class created these beautiful winter scenes.

Straw art

Ms. Barry and Mr. Herity - Rang 5

These amazing straw pictures were designed and created by fifth class children.

The eyes are watching you....

Ms. Lee - Rang 6

Eyes are supposed to be the windows to the soul.  Notoriously difficult to draw, Ms. Lee's boys and girls went to great lengths to capture the beauty of eyes of different animals.  They are really captivating.

Celtic Art

Mr. Thynne - Rang 6

The Celts had an enormous impact on many aspects of Irish life.  This is evident in the intricate art they produced particularly in some of the ancient texts that have been discovered.  Here we see some examples of that art as produced by sixth class children in Mr. Thynne's room.

Pencil Portraits

Ms Heslin - Rang 6

Pencil portraits have been used for years to capture the essence of a person's character.  The sixth class boys and girls used skills of shading to finish these faces.  The effects are stunning.

Camouflage hands

What's that hiding in there?

Camouflage is used in nature by plants and animals as a form of protection against predators.  The third class boys and girls in Ms. Daly's class used paint to explore camouflage and the results are fascinating.

Frosty the snowman

Ms. Kennedy - Rang 4

We may have escaped the snow this year but Ms. Kennedy's boys and girls used collage to create these beautiful snow scenes as a reminder of what the world looks like covered in a thick white blanket of snow.
